Singing of peace, smiling about snowflakes – kindergartners serenade at concert

Kindergarten students at Circleville Elementary School carried on a January tradition recently with their concert, Songs of Peace and Winter.

Two kindergarten girls walk into a room smiling. Each is holding a big paper candle.

The students were well-prepared with their families in attendance as they sang songs of unity and peace as well as some fun songs about winter.

A group of kindergarten students standing together singing. The girl in the center is smiling broadly and wearing a dark pink shirt.

The students filed into the cafeteria carrying the candles they made, showing their light. They have been studying the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and know how important it is to spread peace, kindness and light in the world. They sang “This Little Light of Mine,” “Songs of Peace,” Live in Peace” and ended the day with “This Land is Your Land.”

A kindergarten boy, with short dark hair wearing a gray shirt, holds a tall paper candle as he sits on a stage.

In between, they had some fun with songs about snowmen and snowflakes! And their families enjoyed their very animated performance!
