Pine Bush High School Program Planning Guide
The purpose of the Pine Bush High School Program Planning Guide is to provide a road map to a successful high school experience. The district offers many paths to success. Students are encouraged to choose the best path for themselves and evaluate that path each year.
Regents Special Appeal
Please click this link if you received a letter regarding a special appeal and you want the actual Regents grade to appear on the transcript and not the “SA.”
If you have any questions, please contact your school counselor.
Career and Technical Education
Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education programs give students the opportunity to graduate from high school with technical experience, professional skills, national industry certifications, and college credit in a wide variety of high-demand occupations.
Students who attend CTEC come to Pine Bush High School for half of the school day, and attend their program at CTEC in Goshen for the other half of the day.
Naviance Student
The Pine Bush Counseling Department uses Naviance Student – a mobile-friendly, comprehensive website that students, parents and guardians can use to make plans about colleges and careers. This is linked with Naviance™, a service used in the Counseling Department to track and analyze data about college and career plans, providing up-to-date information specific to our school.
FAFSA
The FAFSA got a facelift last year that included a redesign and fewer questions. Plus, formulas determining aid eligibility had been modified with the goal of expanding financial assistance for low-income families. This year’s FAFSA should remain mostly the same.
This FAFSA overhaul last year puts into practice laws enacted in the FAFSA Simplification Act, part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and amended by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022. When preparing to submit the FAFSA for next school year, there are six changes to be aware
of.
Post-Secondary Planning
Getting through the financial aid and college application processes can be intimidating. Click here for information to help guide you through the processes. If you have any questions, your counselors are always here to help.
