Pre-Kindergarten at Pine Bush
The pre-Kindergarten experience engages children in activities that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth through books, puzzles, art materials, dramatic play props, and math and science manipulatives.
New York State certified teachers and teaching assistants provide carefully planned instruction with lots of opportunities for children to make friends, be considerate of others, experience new things and, by the end of the school year, be prepared for kindergarten.
Eligibility
To participate in the pre-Kindergarten program, children must be residents of the Pine Bush Central School District, and must be 4 years old by Dec. 1 of the year they would begin pre-kindergarten.
Pre-Kindergarten applications are typically mailed to parents in early April, and are due at the end of May. Kindergarten screening takes place in late April and early May. Prospective students are registered during May.
Selection for enrollment in pre-Kindergarten is made through a lottery process in early June, based on the number of students the program can accommodate.
