The district is now accepting proposals from qualified agencies located within the Pine Bush Central School District to administer a portion of the district’s UPK program for the 2025-2026 school year. Proposals are due by Feb. 14, 2025. Qualified agencies interested in submitting a proposal should contact Katie Hennessey at 845-744-2031, ext. 4800 for more information.

Pre-Kindergarten at Pine Bush
The Pine Bush Central School District currently offers a full-day pre-kindergarten program (Universal Pre-Kindergarten UPK) at no cost to families. The program provides services for 214 students through 12 pre-kindergarten classes – three each at Pine Bush Elementary, EJ Russell Elementary and Pakanasink Elementary and two at Circleville Elementary. A new class began this year at Meadowbrook Dreams Preschool, our community-based partner. The pre-kindergarten students follow the same schedule as their respective elementary schools.
The pre-kindergarten experience engages children in activities that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth through books, puzzles, art materials, dramatic play props, and math and science manipulatives. New York State certified teachers and teaching assistants provide carefully planned instruction with lots of opportunities for children to make friends, be considerate of others, experience new things and, by the end of the school year, be prepared for kindergarten.
Eligibility and Application Process
The Pine Bush Central School District is now accepting applications for the anticipated full-day universal pre-kindergarten program for the 2025-2026 school year. To participate in the pre-kindergarten program, children must be residents of the Pine Bush Central School District, and must be 4 years old by December 1, 2025. If your child turned 4 years old prior to Dec. 1, 2024, he/she is eligible for pre-kindergarten for the current school year. We currently have openings at EJ Russell Elementary School and are continuing to accept applications for the 2024-2025 school year.
