February is heart health month and our elementary schools are driving that message home.
At CES, Cara Donohoe from the American Heart Association talked to students about how to keep their hearts healthy – drink water to stay hydrated, eat smart with lots of lean protein, fruits and vegetables, sleep 9-12 hours each day, move more, be kind as it has a chain reaction to your heart and others, and don’t vape or smoke.

Students signed up to be part of the Kids’ Heart Challenge, raising money for the American Heart Association. The students saw a brief video about a little girl born with a special heart and learned it’s kids like her, as well as older people, who most benefit from the work of the American Heart Association.

The funds they raise during this important month go to AHA and the research they do to make life longer and healthier for all. Way to go CES! Way to go Pine Bush!
