Enter the Pine Bush High School lobby and your eye is drawn to a new, original, colorful mural!

It started as an idea from PBHS science teacher Kara Sprague who suggested that the art department could bring a welcoming message to the main lobby.

National Art Honor Society advisor Janice Barth made it into a community service project opportunity for the NAHS students and the students worked together to design and paint this eye-catching mural.

Jake Thompson and Jackson Hujus worked on the original design and Caroline Barth assisted with transferring the design to the wall. Students signed up to paint after school, some staying until 5 p.m. or later multiple times a week. AP art students, most of whom are NAHS members as well, also spent some class time working to complete the mural.

What a beautiful work of art!! Congratulations to all students and teachers involved – and great idea Ms. Sprague!
