Meghan Blackwell, Christian Oliveras and Chase Tavares show their PB pride!

The June Pine Bush High School Pride award winners have been announced – staff member Meghan Blackwell and students Christian Oliveras and Chase Tavares!

Each month, Pine Bush High School Assistant Principal Dan Wargo accepts good news referrals and faculty shoutouts for students and staff members. Administrators then choose one student and one staff member to receive the PB Pride Award.

For June, there were two students, since we let May pass by.

Chase Tavares

Chase Tavares was nominated by Rachel Heller. Ms. Heller stated that Chase works so hard in her classes and always has a smile on her face. She is caring and goes above and beyond in all of her classes.

He consistently puts forth effort into all his classes and has a positive spirit. He has been involved in Teen Outreach and Unity Club throughout his time at the high school. He also participated in Youth Empowerment, Sustainability and Service (YESS) class during his senior year. He is a leader who contributes meaningfully to the school community.

Meghan Blackwell

Meghan Blackwell, a secretary at Pine Bush High School, was nominated by Sue Starr. Ms. Starr wrote Meghan “is an amazing worker, and if it wasn’t for her, this building would not be able to run. She arranges coverage like no one’s business and makes it look so easy. She always has a smile on her face as she does it all. Meg helps anyone, and if she doesn’t have an answer she will just pick up her phone and find you one. She is a sweet person and is always available to assist with anything that needs to be done.”

The PB Pride Award recognizes one student and one staff member each month who exemplify a positive attitude, support their peers and colleagues, and help create a welcoming, uplifting environment at PBHS. Each receives a PBHS T-shirts, made by our awesome PBHS School Store, and certificates. They also get to wear a huge PB pendant and chain, which is then passed on to future honorees, made by our talented staff in the Haas Center.

Congratulations to Christian Oliveras, Chase Tavares and Meghan Blackwell, our May/June PB Pride Award winners! You all make us #PineBushProud!
