The Pine Bush Fire Department brought high-energy action and life-saving lessons to EJR Elementary! Firefighters kicked off the exciting visit with an interactive demonstration on testing smoke detector batteries and reacting fast in an emergency. Students mastered crucial safety moves: staying low, testing doorknobs with the back of their hands, and practicing the all-important “stop, drop, and roll.”

Next came the ultimate test, the smoke house! Guided by Pine Bush Firemen, students put their skills into action, crawling low beneath simulated smoke. To top off the unforgettable day, students got an up-close, hands-on look at the awesome gear and equipment inside a real fire truck.

A massive thank you to the Pine Bush Fire Department for an empowering, fun-filled experience our students won’t forget!
