The Masked Reader highlights reading and fun at EJR

EJ Russell Elementary School had an amazing and fun way to promote reading throughout the school – it was the Masked Reader!

Five people wearing big blow-up costumes are on a stage.

Seven staff members, dressed in inflatable costumes (and one pickle suit), were recorded reading a book with a voice changer app. It was a great way to disguise both their appearance and their voices!

They shared one story per day and gave some clues about the reader. Each class guessed who the reader might be, some successfully and most not.

The culmination came with the Masked Reader reveal. During their leadership assembly, six of the seven readers appeared on the stage in their costumes, with one making a video, each revealing their identity, much to the delight of the students.
