STARS picnic is a hit as students fish, hike and dominate at kick ball

The Pine Bush High School STARS team hosted parents, family and staff for a BBQ picnic at Circleville Park on Friday, May 30.

A man cooks on a large grill as high school kids wait in line for their food.

Our science teacher, Christine Guarino, led students on a nature walk around the lake. Neil Lisberg and Briana Scott served up food from the grill, while students fished and played basketball. The students dominated in a staff vs. student kickball game despite Principal Aaron Hopmayer, Anthony Coraci and Katrina Morin’s attempts to win.

High school students and some teachers play kickball on a large baseball field.

Wendy Crandall and Katie Carson served up cotton candy and snow cones following the staff’s tough loss.

Two women smile as they hold one pink cotton candy and look like they are going to bite it.

Two high school students in blue shirts hold large frogs they found in the lake.

Family members were appreciative of getting the opportunity to connect more with the staff, who lovingly refer to their students as “their kids.”

A great day was had by all.
