PAK students are in the know about fire safety

Our volunteers from the Circleville Fire Department and Silver Lake Fire Department came to Pakanasink Elementary School to teach our students about fire safety.

For the younger students, it is sometimes the first time they hear about the equipment and just what the fire department does. For the older kids, it reinforces what they’ve learned throughout the years: get out of the house in case of a fire and call 911, stay low to the floor if the house is filled with smoke, sleep with your bedroom door closed, and always have a meeting place outside in case of emergency.

A very large ladder that says Tower Ladder extends over a group of kids listening to firefighters.

We had a couple of PAK dads sharing their wisdom, Andrew Arjune and Christopher Rouhotas!

A man in a firefighter jacket smiles as a boy stands with him also smiling.

What a wonderful treat! We are grateful to our community partners, Circleville FD and Silver Lake FD, for teaching our students all they need to know about fire safety and for all the time they volunteer to keep our community safe.
