Forty-two Crispell students inducted into National Junior Honor Society

Crispell Middle School inducted 42 students into its chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

 

The group is advised by Shannon Meland and Stephen Charchan.

Amy Brockner, interim superintendent, addressed the students at the ceremony, which was held on May 28.

“Congratulations. Your hard work, dedication and perseverance have brought you to this moment and I want you to take a moment to truly feel the weight of this achievement,” said Ms. Brockner. “NJHS membership is not given lightly. It is a recognition of excellence, not only in academics, but in character, leadership, citizenship and service.”

In order to be eligible for the NJHS, students must live the five tenants of the group: scholarship, service, citizenship, leadership and character.

Scholarship – students must achieve a 93 or above overall average for the first three quarters of the school year.

Service – students must participate in at least two school activities

Citizenship – students must participate in at least one community service activity.

Leadership – students must participate in an activity for which he/she is directly responsible.

Character – student must show good character.

Ms. Brockner encouraged the students to continue being their best.

“Never forget that this moment is not a finish line, but a milestone,” she said. “Let it remind you of what you’re capable of and inspire you to keep growing, learning and leading.”

Congratulations to all who have worked so hard to achieve this honor.
