*In following with the guidelines we have received from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the County Dept. of Health (DOH), and the State Education Department (SED), we will be requiring masks for everyone indoors.

  • Continuing Education classes will not be held if Pine Bush schools are closed or after-school activities are cancelled.
  • No transportation is provided for Continuing Education classes.
  • Early registration is encouraged to assure placement and to avoid possible class cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. Most classes require a minimum of 10 students, while others may have a maximum number of students and will close out.

PICKLEBALL FOR BEGINNERS

Learn how to play pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in the country. This class will teach you the rules and basic elements of the game and offer the opportunity to play games for fitness and fun with others at the same level of experience.

PICKLEBALL®

Pickleball®, an enormously popular paddle sport, is here in Pine Bush! Enjoy a fun night of competitive Pickleball games. No experience necessary. It’s a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and Ping-Pong. The game is played with a paddle and whiffle-type balls on a slightly shorter tennis court. Many schools have added Pickleball® to their PE classes, but it is extremely popular with adults for its social aspect and the ability to stay active while having FUN.

BODY SCULPTING

Grab your hand weights, your mat, and your focus for this total body workout led by Gillian. This entire routine allows you to burn, tone, firm up, or trim down. Work your way, at your pace, and strength, with this 60-minute workout using your bodyweight and dumbbells. Your metabolism will be revved up while you burn major calories! Open to all ages, fitness levels, and genders.

KETTLE & CORE BOOT CAMP

This class is designed for toning, sculpting, and strengthening the lower body. Mainly the lower back and the entire core region. Leaning and strengthening the hips, glutes, and thighs, creating better core balance. Please bring a mat, a set of hand weights, and a kettlebell to class. Open to all ages, fitness levels, and genders.

STRETCHY YOGA

Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, you will leave this class with a better-feeling body and quieter mind. Girls Grades 3-7

Students will learn rules, skills, and drills, followed by games. This is a drop-off program; parents do not stay in the gym to observe due to safety concerns.

WATER SKILLS & SAFETY – LEARN TO SWIM at PAK POOL

CHILDREN AGES 2-12

There will be three sessions of swim lessons. Each session has eight 30-minute classes. Students will meet twice per week at the Pakanasink Elementary School pool. Classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. No pre-evaluation is necessary. All swim levels are available at each class. Space is limited. FEE: $120

Level 1- Beginner Swimming (Suggested Age 2-6): Meet in the Kiddie Side of the pool. Caters to brand new swimmers and those not comfortable with water.

Level 2- Novice Swimming (Suggested Age 4-8): Meet in the Shallow End of the pool. Focuses on swimmers who are comfortable in the water but need some assistance.

Level 3- Intermediate Swimming (Suggested Age 5-10): Meet in the Middle Side of the pool. Aimed at swimmers who can swim independently but need work on stroke technique, endurance, and comfort in deep water.

Level 4- Advanced Swimming (Suggested Age 6-12): Meet in the Deep End of the pool. Designed for swimmers who are capable but need stroke refinement. Passing this level is adequate preparation for competitive swimming.

BOYS SOCCER SKILLS

Grades 7-12

Coach Gittleman and Coach Carillo

This program is designed around teaching the fundamentals of soccer and the conditioning that helps develop those skills. This is a developmental program for those players interested in advancing their soccer knowledge of play. This is not for those individuals looking for scrimmage play. Players need to bring a soccer ball and gym floor-appropriate footwear. Shin guards are not required, but recommended. Limit of 15 players per session (10-week sessions).

S.T.E.M. and ROBOTICS CLUB: GRADES K- 5

STEM Concepts and Creativity are combined together in this action-packed program where kids learn real-life skills while having real-kid FUN! Kids will be engaged in project-based learning using STEM activities and DASH & DOT Robots that are smart to respond to voices and sound and can be programmed to sing and dance. Kids will be encouraged to design, build, and program their creations, embedding creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication!

SELF ENRICHMENT CLASSES

AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training class gives you the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The Lifeguard Training class includes CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid Training, and Waterfront Lifeguarding. All coursework is done virtually through the ARC Blended Learning Portal. Lifeguard Certification is valid for two years; however, New York State honors CPR certification for one year. Limit 12 students.

FIVE-HOUR PRE-LICENSING COURSE

The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles mandates this course for all NYS permit holders. This class will be a LIVE VIRTUAL CLASS. Students must pre-register and include a copy of their photo learner permit with registration. Paid students will be emailed a link to the class a few days before the class. All students should be aware that iCloud emails are not compatible with Pine Bush Google Classroom. Upon course completion, the MV-278 certificate will be mailed to the address on the permit. This certificate is required to schedule a road test appointment.
