Sixth-grade students at CVMS explored the scientific method by taking on the tower lab challenge!
Their goal was to construct a free-standing tower using the least amount of index cards in order to hold a stuffed animal for 20 seconds.
Groups used a variety of different methods for construction – curved bases, wide bases, rectangular structures – and multiple were successful! Students worked collaboratively through this process to learn that scientists are always editing, revising, and making adjustments to their ideas when experimenting!
