Children attending summer programs must be immunized; counties provide ongoing immunization clinics

Due to a change in the law effective June 13, 2019, religious exemptions from vaccinations are no longer permitted in New York State for students.

If your child(ren) will be attending any of the District’s summer programs, they will need to receive the first age appropriate dose in each immunization series before the first day of the program. In addition, you must show by July 14, 2019 that you have made appointments for all required follow-up doses.

If your child(ren) will not return until the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, they must receive their first doses by Sept. 18, 2019, which is 14 days following the first day of school. By Oct. 4, 2019, 30 days after the first day of school, you must show proof of appointments for all required follow-up doses. We recommend beginning the process during the summer to avoid any issues or missed school.

We recommend that you work with your child’s medical providers to ensure compliance with the vaccination requirements.
