CES students celebrate Balloons Over Broadway

Kindergarten students and students in all special programs at Circleville Elementary School participated in a Balloons Over Broadway event during Thanksgiving week.

A little boy sits at a desk holding up a white balloon and smiling at it. The balloon has a face drawn on it.

The students made their own balloons, a bit smaller than the actual balloons that flew over Broadway on Thanksgiving morning, and had a parade to show them off! A big thanks to the parent volunteers who helped make this such a fun event for all involved!

A kindergarten girl wearing a purple shirt holds up a blue balloon that has a trunk and big ears like an elephant.

“Balloons Over Broadway” is a children’s book that tells the story of Tony Sarg, the man who invented the giant balloons of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students got to learn how that treasured holiday tradition came about.
