Students are running the extra mile at PBE
Pine Bush Elementary students took part in the Presidential Mile recently. Third, fourth and fifth-grade students ran qualifying races to secure a spot in the finals on the high school track. The qualifiers ran four laps, getting a popsicle stick from their teacher for each lap to keep track. In addition, their teachers gave …

Chickens and ducks and (now) emus – oh my!
We have… emus! Stacy Venzel’s fourth-grade class’s emus hatched overnight on June 4. The students had watched the beginning of the lengthy hatching process during the school day. Students welcomed “blonde” emus Graham Cracker and Big Bird. As they’ve grown, Big Bird turned out to be the smaller of the two! This class also …

Board approves half days for June 25 & 26 for middle and elementary schools
On Tuesday, May 26, the board of education amended the student calendar, making Thursday and Friday, June 25 and 26, half days for elementary and middle school. June 26 is the last day of school.
