Caitlyn Loennecker, Jeffrey Palma are honored at OCIAA senior scholar-athlete breakfast

Congratulations to Pine Bush High School seniors Caitlyn Loennecker and Jeffrey Palma who were among the scholar athletes from throughout Orange County honored by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) on Thursday, June 12.

Two high school seniors - a young woman on the left and a young man on the right, stand in front of a backdrop that says OCIAA all around it. They are both smiling.

Caitlyn is ranked sixth in the Pine Bush High School Class of 2025, and participated in soccer and golf.

She has received the Russel Sage Award and the Sojourner Truth Citizenship Award. She has earned high honor roll every marking period and was a scholar athlete in both the fall and spring seasons for her varsity years. Caitlyn is a member of the First Aid Club.

Caitlyn has volunteered as a Circleville Middle School tutor, an assistant soccer coach for the youth league in Pine Bush, and has volunteered and was instrumental in organization blood drives at PBHS. She also helps out at the senior citizen dinner in March, gave a presentation on first aid to the elementary students in the district and was part of a program making toys for kids at the holidays.

Caitlyn will attend SUNY Stony Brook for nursing.

Jeffrey Palma is the valedictorian for the Class of 2025. His sport is soccer and he was captain of this year’s team. He has earned scholar-athlete honors for three years, was the top scorer for Pine Bush and the offensive player of the year for the team.

Academically, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, earned both the seal of biliteracy and the seal of civic readiness and scored a 5 on an AP exam.

Jeffrey coaches youth soccer for the Town of Wallkill, volunteers for the Middletown Thrall Library and the Goshen Historic Track, and is active in the PBHS Interact Club.

Jeffrey plans to attend Pace University to major in chemistry.

The breakfast was held at The Country Club at Otterkill attended by honorees, their families, district personnel and OCIAA members.

Congratulations to both Caitlyn and Jeffrey and best of luck in your future endeavors! You make us Pine Bush proud!
