The Pine Bush school community has renewed their commitment to being a No Place for Hate district!

CVMS held their annual kickoff event, where each student signed the Resolution of Respect, pledging to promote inclusivity and speaking out against discrimination. The signed resolutions are now displayed in every classroom on a poster board.

After signing the resolution, students and teachers will conduct character target reviews at the start of each class period to establish classroom behavior and expectations. Each character target will have a monthly theme, including empathy, integrity, respect, and courage.

The commitment to speaking out against hate and discrimination has extended into the Board of Education. During their recent meeting on September 22, each member signed the No Place for Hate pledge, which reaffirms their commitment to promote an inclusive and equitable environment for all students. It also serves as a powerful statement of the school district’s dedication to the tenets of No Place for Hate. The pledge is stated as follows:

“We pledge, from this day forward, to do our best to combat prejudice and to stop those who violate someone’s civil rights. We will seek to understand those who are different. We believe that one person can make a difference and that no person should stand by when it comes to opposing hate. We will speak out against prejudice and discrimination. We will reach out to those who are victims of hate. We know that we must all promote harmony, equality, and respect. By signing the pledge, we commit ourselves to creating a community that is No Place for Hate.”
