A reason to smile

A big thank you to Dr. Shazim Farooq, Kelsey Mooly and Jordan Lewis of the Pine Bush Dental Group who spent the entire day Wednesday, Jan. 18, with our pre-K, kindergarten, first and second-grade students at Pakanasink, teaching them good dental health habits.

A group of younger elementary students sit on a colorful rug and listen to three adults, all wearing scrubs, talking about dental health.

The students learned the importance of brushing for two minutes each time as well as how important it is to make good food choices.  The dental pros set a timer and the children had to erase marker on laminated “tooth” pages as practice!

Younger elementary students sit on a colorful rug with worksheets containing a picture of a large tooth on it. A man in dark blue scrubs kneels down to talk to one of the students about his sheet.

A woman with long blonde hair, wearing pink scrubs and a black sweater, stands in front of the class with a large plastic tooth and a large toothbrush, showing the students sitting in front of her how to brush correctly.

It was a wonderful interactive session for each of the classes! We are grateful to the Pine Bush Dental Group for taking the time to educate our students on this lifelong healthy practice.
