A letter regarding transportation for the 2019-2020 school year

July 25, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We wanted to take this opportunity to bring to your attention that there may be a change in your child’s transportation for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. The Pine Bush Central School District has purchased a new updated transportation software which allows us the ability to optimize the transportation of our students in accordance with state laws and Board of Education Policy.  Please see the district’s website for links to the transportation policy and state laws.

It is our expectation that the changes we are making will reduce the overcrowding and bus ride times we have experienced in the past. These changes may affect familiar bus runs and bus stops.

The most significant adjustments may be in your child’s current bus stop.  Bus stops are not to be placed in cul-de-sacs, dead-end streets, or on private roads.  After a complete review using the new software, we found that there were far too many stops. Of course, we will review any stop that may be considered unsafe.

Post cards with route and stop information will be mailed out the second week of August. Please keep a look out for them, and feel free to visit the bus stop for the upcoming school year.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer, and see you in September.

Sincerely,

Kurt M. Wickham
