Let’s celebrate Pi Day! They do it in a very special way at CES! Math takes center stage, of course, as students learn about the mathematical constant, Pi (3.14159), but there is excitement for another reason.

The student at each grade level who raised the most money for the American Heart Association during the Kids Heart Challenge in February have the honor of smooshing a pie in the face of a brave staff volunteer. This year, CES raised $15,102.80 for the AHA so kudos to all who participated and the great job everyone did.

And a big thanks to all of our volunteers who happily accepted a pie in the face for a very good cause – Kathleen Murray, RJ Gabriel, Janell Budd, Jake Izzo, Michele Drustadt, and Natalie Gradowski. Danielle Carey took an extra pie from Beverly Feuerstack! A big shout out to PTA president Lindsay DeVries who kept those whipped cream pies coming!
