One hundred days…and counting!

Our elementary schools celebrated 100 days of the 2020-2021 school year on Wednesday, Feb. 24 – and Thursday, Feb. 25 for the students who attend school on Tuesday/Thursday – with lots of counting and reading and, well, just focusing on the number 100.Two little boys sit on the floor with a couch behind them with 100 stuffed animals covering it.

A boy wearing a white shirt and blue jeans holds up a large piece of cardboard with rows of colorful cereal on it totaling 100

A fifth grade boy wearing glasses smiles and holds up a piece of cardboard with his name, Zion, spelled out in pushpins. At CES, there was lots of counting going on, both for in-person learners as well as those learning remotely. For example, take a look at 100 stuffed animals, 100 pieces of fruity cereal, 100 pushpins and 100 Legos! Our students had some fun showing us just what 100 looks like.

A smiling boy is in the center of an oversized photo frame that says I am 100 days Smarter!

A smiling girl wearing a pink shirt is lying down on a wood floor. Just above her on the floor are 100 legos in the shape of the number 100.

It is certainly a milestone to celebrate, especially this year when students, teachers, support staff and parents are working extra hard in very different circumstances. Our students are now 100 days smarter, 100 days brighter. And counting!A little boy dressed in red is smiling broadly as he holds a large piece of cardboard with 100 colorful pieces of cereal .
