YESS students empower others with annual Say Something Week message

What a busy week for the YESS students -Youth Empowerment Sustainability and Service – the week before spring recess.

Three high school kids smile as they hold up a photo booth sign that says See Something Say Something.

A group of 20 high school students stand around with their green and white Sandy Hook Promise shirts on. Some are holding a square photo booth that says See Something Say Something.

It was Sandy Hook Promise Say Something Week and YESS students spent every day during lunch periods raising awareness of Saying Something to a Trusted Adult if they see threats of self-harm or threats to others.

High school kids gather at a booth where information is being handed out.

In addition to the Say Something Week preparation, they trained for weeks with Moises Colon-Ortega to present to all 9th graders for Wellness Day. The anti-bullying presentation was well received by the freshmen. What a great group of upstanders!

A monitor in the center. Three high school kids are using it to give a presentation to kids in a classroom.
