Ninth-grade students at PBHS experienced Wellness Day! And it truly was an experience.
The message to our ninth-grade students is to take care of yourself – and others – even in the most stressful of times. Students learned ways to manage their stress – with exercise, crafts, music, mindfulness, and pets!

Some students shared their poetry and music in the library. Principal Aaron Hopmayer gave students a seminar on the importance of leadership. Students learned about bullying from their older peers in the Youth Empowerment Sustainability and Service class (YESS), its effects and what to do if you witness it.

Our freshmen spent time with therapy dogs, made friendship bracelets and vision boards, and danced! Students took part in a disabled artist workshop, painting with their non-dominant hand. It was enlightening! They learned basic Karate, practiced yoga, heard about healthy relationships and setting boundaries, played throwback board games, journaled, and experienced what it feels like to drive impaired. Eye opening for sure!

Students also discovered that many of the people they look up to in the world of entertainment and sports deal with many of the same things that they do, such as attention deficit disorder (ADD), dyslexia, depression and anxiety, or are on the autism spectrum.

Wellness Day is truly geared toward the students and their well-being, their ability to find healthy outlets to alleviate stress and to maintain good overall health. #WellnessJourney #TakeCareOfYourself #PineBushCares
