We are watching the weather for Friday’s graduation ceremony

The Pine Bush High School Class of 2023 is scheduled to graduate this Friday at 7 p.m. However, the weather forecast currently shows a possibility of rain at that time.

Therefore,  we want you to know that we may adjust the time of the graduation in order to keep the ceremony outdoors on Friday. It is very important to keep the ceremony outdoors since it allows for unlimited family members to attend, whereas our indoor option strictly limits family members’ attendance to 2 per graduate. Our time window on Friday may expand to include a start time of no earlier than 4 p.m. and no later than 9 p.m., depending on the forecast.

If we must consider Saturday morning or afternoon, we will do that, but only if Friday is not a possibility. Our goal is to keep the event on Friday at the scheduled time.

A decision about the time of Friday’s graduation will be made by 9 a.m. on June 23. This will be communicated directly to graduates at Friday morning’s dress rehearsal. Parents, guardians and the community will be informed via call, email, website, Facebook and our marquees at the high school and Circleville Elementary School at that time as well.

Our goal, of course, is to host the graduation, as planned, on Friday, June 23, at 7 p.m. on the athletic field. We wanted to let everyone know that we may have to adjust the start time to take advantage of any positive “weather window” that may present itself. We will communicate the team’s decision about Friday’s graduation at 9 a.m. on June 23.

The all-night graduation party will take place on Friday, 10:30 p.m. regardless of the weather or the time of graduation.
