SUNY Orange FTA donates to Pine Bush school lunch program

A heartfelt thank you to the SUNY Orange Future Teachers Association for its generous donation to the Pine Bush Food Services Department. Their $600 donation will go a long way toward decreasing the lunch balances of many students in our district.

Seven adults stand in front of a blue and gold Pine Bush Central School District sign. The three people on the left have a large ceremonial check made out to the district for $600.
From left, Superintendent Brian Dunn and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Amy Brocker accept a check for $600 from the SUNY Orange Future Teachers Association from Amanda Silliman and Gabby Miyoski; Pine Bush School Nutrition representative Judi VanDuzer and SUNY Orange FTA advisors Jennifer Mirecki and Elizabeth Tarvin.

According to SUNY Orange FTA advisor Jennifer Mirecki, the group sold coffee and also accepted donations from students and staff. The effort was led by Amanda Silliman, a 2016 graduate of Pine Bush High School, and Gabby Miyoski. Both were on hand with their advisors Ms. Mirecki and Elizabeth Tarvin to present the check to Pine Bush Superintendent Brian Dunn, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Amy Brockner and School Nutrition representative Judi VanDuzer.

“This was incredibly generous of the FTA to help our students,” said Assistant Superintendent for Business Joseph Lenz. “Learning that a Pine Bush alumnus was one of the forces behind this makes it even more special. We are so grateful.”
