Start With Hello opens up opportunities at PAK

Pakanasink held its Start With Hello week Sept. 27-Oct. 1 with many different activities to help get kids to look out for each other and welcome others.

She has a big pink bow in her hair.There were posters throughout the building where students wrote their suggestions to scenarios such as “What would you do if you saw someone playing alone?” or “How can you be a friend?”

Start With Hello is a jumping off point. Introduce yourself to someone new or a student who is sitting alone by saying hello! That’s the message.

Another of the activities was pretty creative and fun. Students were encouraged to wear something to school on Friday that told others something about themselves. It would be a conversation starter. There were soccer uniforms, a ballerina, various superheroes and sports team, a cat and even an electrician (like dad).
