The purpose of this guide is to assist you through the Teacher-Student Roster Verification process. Section 30-2.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents requires teachers and principals to be involved in the review and verification of linkage data. In short, your verification of your rosters and student attendance/enrollment data will ensure that your APPR scores are correctly generated in the spring. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.
To access the login page, visit https://eservices.nysed.gov/taa . A link to this page is provided in the Staff Resources section of the website.
If you received a PIN last year, you will log into the system with the same username and password. It was recommended that you use your school email as your username, and create your own unique password. If you forgot your password and/or username, click on the appropriate links.
Verify Courses and Classes
Check and make sure that each of your classes is included in the drop-down menu on the top left of the screen. If you teach semester courses, both fall and spring courses should be included. Please note that anything that you teach that is NOT in CrossPointe (i.e., you are not a teacher of record for attendance) will not be included.
Verify Rosters and Linkage Dates
Verify the roster for each class or course. Verify the linkage date, which is the first date the student was linked to your class. Verify the linkage end date, which is the date the student may have exited your class.
Identify Any Errors
Please make sure to report any issues that may have occurred using the Teacher/Student Roster Verification Report Form. This form should be submitted to your building principal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do former students still appear?
First, it is important to note that the Teacher Student Roster Verification Report tool does not delete anything. If your attendance list (for each class) in your student management system is accurate, then the Teacher Student Roster Verification Report tool will display the same accurate information. Any student that was ever scheduled into your class will appear, but students that transferred out will have a linkage and date.
Why am I seeing my classes from last year?
SED’s verification website defaults to a view of your classes from the first year you verified Teacher Student Data Linkage. You can change this by clicking the year listed (in the upper region of the screen.)
