Spreading holiday cheer – Crispell style

Students Making A Difference Club and select chorus members from Crispell volunteered at Over the Moon Enrichment Center in Pine Bush to teach the message of kindness in the holiday season.

A line of middle school students stand against a building and sing to little kids sitting in a row.

Our volunteers planned, prepared and implemented lessons to teach core values of the season accompanied with a book and craft activity. The petite pioneers created hand snowmen, while the elementary aged students read How the Grinch Stole Christmas and wrote letters home to their families.

A little boy smiles wearing a red and green santa hat he made. There is a middle school kid next to him.

They all made adorable little hats! After all crafts were complete and books read, the SMAD and select chorus students sang holiday songs to the entire school. Have a look and listen!

The following day, the group volunteered at Pine Crest Senior Housing to play a game of Bingo and sing holiday songs. Each Crispell volunteer buddied up with a resident to play bingo! It was a great time had by all, some residents were excited to see us again, since this was the fifth year the group’s been doing this holiday tradition at Pine Crest!

Such a wonderful collaboration between Crispell and our larger community!
