Six Pine Bush bus runs, one private run will not be in service Monday, Sept. 20

Hello Pine Bush families,

I was just notified by officials at Birnie Bus Company that there will be six public school bus runs (three secondary and three elementary) and one private school run with no drivers for tomorrow. Apparently, three drivers from other depots who had all been promised to us have now been assigned elsewhere. To make matters worse, I also discovered that BIrnie planned to inform you there would no transportation tomorrow morning, which is completely
unacceptable. Now that I have been able to identify the specific runs, I want to share them with you in case you are able to make any alternate arrangements.

We still have two Facebook groups you can use to try to arrange ride shares. Here’s the link for the north end of the district and here is the link for the south end. The links can also be found in the banner at the top of our website.

I was able to speak with the depot manager, who pledged to work on finding a way to cover these runs as the week progresses.

Here are the routes that will have no AM or PM transportation from Birnie Bus tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 20, 2021:

  • Combo Crispell/ HS Route: 418,
  • Pine Bush HS Route: 130, 136
  • Circleville ES Route: 508
  • Pine Bush Elementary Route: 341
  • EJ Russell Route: 263
  • Over the Moon – Middletown location only

I know how disruptive this is, and I frankly don’t know what to say. I am incredibly frustrated, and I will continue to monitor the situation

Thank you,

Tim O. Mains, Pine Bush Superintendent
