Plein air painting at PBE

Spring is such a great time of year, especially when you can take your class outside and create beautiful art!

An elementary student squats down in the grass and paints with many different colors.

Pine Bush Elementary students in Patrice Butler’s art classes enjoyed some plein air painting out on the courtyard recently. They learned about artist Alma Woodsey Thomas and painted in the style of her “Eclipse” painting.  A perfect day for art in the courtyard and the students loved it!

A wide view of a courtyard surrounded by a brick building. It has a circular path with a patch of grass in the midde. All around it are elementary students, at a safe distance apart from each other, sitting on the ground and painting.

An elementary school boy wearing a blue and blackshirt sits on a stone bench painting. He is wearing a green mask. It's a bright sunny day.A cart filled with art supplies on the right. Just in front of it is a student sitting on a red bench painting. There is a beautiful tree with pink blossoms on it.
