Members of the CVMS Interact Club visited the Regional Food Bank in Montgomery recently. The 16 students, in grades 6 through 8, led by their advisor Nicole Bobby, helped sort donated frozen food into boxes that were to be delivered to more than 23 counties throughout New York.

Then they toured the 50,000 square-foot warehouse, which just opened last February, and learned more about the amazing work done there. This location functions as a central hub, collecting large-scale donations from the food industry and distributing them to a network of over 1,000 partner agencies, including food pantries – like our pantry at Pine Bush High School – soup kitchens, and shelters.

This is such a great way for our students to see how philanthropy works, benefiting their friends and neighbors right here in Pine Bush.
Have a look at the reel created with our students and Ms. Bobby at the food bank.
