Surrounded by her teammates and family, Elysia Jackson signed her national letter of intent to run track at Division I Le Moyne College in Syracuse.

Coach Robin Renahan described Elysia as “a very special athlete” who has made many contributions to the track and field program.
“She is an athlete that can do just about anything,” said Coach Renahan. “She has strong times and marks for the 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, and long jump. She is currently our top 400 and 800 meter runner. Her specialty is the open 400.

“Elysia is very resilient,” she continued. “She battled shin splints last year that came very close to a stress fracture. Rather than giving up, she participated in physical therapy and gave it her all. She also never stops finding ways to improve.”
Coach said Elysia has built close relationship on the team, evident by the large number of teammates there to celebrate her signing.

“I see her inspiring the girls to compete and be the best version of themselves,” said Coach Renahan. “The group of girls I have this year are extremely motivated and I know that Elysia played an important role in that dynamic. Elysia’s talent got her noticed, but it was her resilience that took her to Division 1.”

Athletic Director Jen Evans reminded Elysia that she will always be part of the Pine Bush family and that we can’t wait to see where her future takes her!
Congratulations Elysia! You make us #PineBushProud
