Ellen Schoenberg ends 12 years of Odyssey with a lifetime of memories…and a scholarship

A big shout-out to Pine Bush High School graduating senior Ellen Schoenberg who received a New York State Odyssey of the Mind Association scholarship for her 12 years participating in the Pine Bush Odyssey of the Mind program.

Yes, all 12 years. Ellen started her Odyssey journey way back in first grade and never looked back.  She has learned to treat life’s challenges as a series of spontaneous problems which can be solved with the help of a good team, creative ideas and a sense of humor. That pretty much sums up what Odyssey is all about. Ellen also has made lifelong friends through the program, as well as amazing coaches.

The scholarship program is open to Odyssey participants in New York. Thanks to donations and raffle sales, this year’s award is $750. To be considered for the scholarship, students produced a video informing people of why they should volunteer to be an Odyssey of the Mind judge. Here is Ellen’s video application.

Congratulations to Ellen Schoenberg as she leaves Pine Bush High School and moves on to study political science to pursue a career in government.
