Fifth-graders from EJ Russell Elementary School and Pine Bush Elementary School recently traveled to Crispell Middle School, their next step in their education journey here in Pine Bush.
They were greeted by the sixth-grade team and counselors, ready to welcome them to middle school. They listened to the chorus sing and the band play.

Then sixth-grade teachers John Barth and Helen Fitzgibbons addressed the group.
“Middle school is an awesome place,” said Mr. Barth. “You meet new friends and start to figure out what you like. You have the chance to join clubs, play sports and participate in music. It also comes with more responsibilities, more work and tests.”

They introduced the sixth-grade staff. Then, they went over middle school expectations, the classes available to them, using lockers and after-school clubs. They also had a question and answer session that was very informative.
“The secret about middle school is that no one has it all figured out,” said Ms. Fitzgibbons. “Try your best and ask questions when you need help. And always be kind to the people around you.”
You’ve got this fifth-graders!
