We are delighted to welcome Thomas Breitfeller as he begins his tenure as principal of Pine Bush High School.

Mr. Breitfeller brings a wealth of diverse experience and a deep-rooted passion for student advocacy, helping students find their future paths.
He began his career in education as a college admissions counselor at Pace University. He then served as director of admissions and school counselor at John S. Burke Catholic High School.
In 2016, he joined the Highland Falls – Fort Montgomery Central School district as a school counselor at James I. O’Neill High School. Mr. Breitfeller worked with high school students navigating their four-year college and career pathways as students start their journeys as lifelong learners. He also served as a coach, DASA coordinator and standardized testing coordinator.
In July of 2022, Mr. Breitfeller was named assistant principal at James I. O’Neill High School.
Mr. Breitfeller earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the State University of New York, Cortland, and a Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services from Fordham University. He received his Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the State University of New York, New Paltz.
Mr. Breitfeller said his commitment to education runs deep, as does his passion for counseling and advocating for the whole child.
“It is my hope to foster a feeling of consistency and value in each student’s education experience as Pine Bush High School has so much to offer,” said Mr. Breitfeller. “I view the educational experience here at the high school level as a pathway, not only to obtaining a diploma but as a channel to a fulfilling career keeping aligned with students’ goals.”
Mr. Breitfeller has two beautiful sons and enjoys all things sports, especially baseball and basketball.
