  • Continuing Education classes will not be held if Pine Bush schools are closed or after-school activities are cancelled.
  • Early registration is encouraged to assure placement and to avoid possible class cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. Most classes require a minimum of 10 students, while others may have a maximum number of students and will close out.
  • We make every attempt to reschedule cancellations, sometimes this is not possible. Contact the instructor for makeup date(s).
  • We do not send confirmations. Simply attend your first class. You will only be notified if there is a change in the class, usually by email. Please print email addresses clearly.

JOURNEY TO WELLNESS

Learn and practice different strategies for caring for yourself, including
Meditation, Essential Oils, Positive Affirmations, Stress Relief, the Mind-
Body connection and more. Many tools will be discussed and practiced. (5
weeks).

PICKLEBALL®

Pickleball ® is an enormously popular paddle sport, and it’s here in Pine Bush!
The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game. It's a fun sport that
combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and Ping-Pong. The game is
played indoors and outdoors on a slightly shorter tennis court. It's played
with a paddle and wiffle type balls. Many schools have added Pickleball ® to
their PE classes but it is extremely popular with adults for its social aspect
and the ability to stay active while having FUN. Call the continuing ed.

BEGINNING SOCCER FOR ADULT WOMEN (Age 40 and Up)

Come and learn how to play on a half size field. Great exercise and lots of fun
for those who never played before. Cleats recommended for outdoors.

CIRCLE OF YOGA: MIND-BODY-SPIRIT

Join our circle of yoga and gain strength, flexibility, and balance while learning to quiet the mind. For all levels, whether you have practiced yoga for years or
you’ve never tried it, this class is for you. The goal is to help you find your path to better health, mental clarity, and a less stressful life and have fun while doing it! Things to bring to class: yoga mat, yoga block, blanket. Things to leave behind: cell phone and all electronic devices.

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE – American Red Cross
James Mullen

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training class gives you the skills and
knowledge to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The Lifeguard
Training Class includes CPR Training for the Professional Rescuer and First
Aid Training. Lifeguard Certification is valid for two years. Minimum age is 15
before the completion of class. Limit of 14.

WOMEN’S SELF DEFENSE
Ages 12 & Up
Nicholas Licata

This class teaches women and girls the basics of keeping themselves safe if
attacked.  To begin, students learn how to fall and roll to prevent injury.  They
then progress to understanding basic strategies for dealing with different types of threats. The instructor is a lifelong martial artist and head instructor at The Martial Way, NGA Dojo in Pine Bush.  A uniform is required which can be
purchased from Sensei Licata.  For the first class, please wear sweat pants and a long sleeve shirt and leave your jewelry at home.

KETTLE & CORE BOOT CAMP

This class is designed for toning, sculpting and strengthening the lower body. Mainly the lower back and the entire core region. Leaning and strengthening the hips, glutes and thighs, creating better core balance. Please bring a mat, a set of hand weights, and a kettle bell to class. Open to all ages, fitness levels, and genders. Attend both of Gillian’s class for $220!

LAP SWIM / FAMILY SWIM

AN ADULT MUST ACCOMPANY ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

No registration required, pay lifeguard. Swim will be cancelled if school is closed or after-school activities are cancelled.

HOW TO DRASTICALLY CUT COSTS IN DIFFICULT FINANCIAL TIMES

Are you trying to drastically cut costs? This course, taught by a consumer advocate, will explain how you can save thousands of dollars.  Discussions will be on ways to save money by investing on your own with no-load mutual funds, the benefits of credit unions, buying used cars, saving money when purchasing home, auto, and life insurance, and methods to reduce taxes on your home. Money saving web sites and other ways to save money will also be discussed. (Optional materials available for $20)

Grab your hand weights, your mat and your focus for this total body workout led by Gillian. This entire routine allows you to burn, tone, firm up or trim down. Work your way, at your pace, and strength, with this 60-minute workout using your bodyweight and dumbbells. Your metabolism will be revved up while you burn major calories! Open to all ages, fitness levels, and genders. Attend both of Gillian’s classes for total of $220.

SECRETS WALL STREET DOESN’T WANT YOU TO KNOW WHEN INVESTING YOUR MONEY

Have you just come into some money or do you have some money to invest? You will learn how to make your best deal when buying or leasing cars, buying insurance, investigating long term care insurance, investing with or without a financial planner, and when to invest in mutual funds on your own. After taking this course, you will have the confidence to invest on your own or be able to interview financial planners so you can find those who are truly working for you. KARATE FORMS

Andrea Urmston

Karate forms are choreographed routines that include all basic karate movements such as punches, kicks, and blocks. They are performed solo, so there is no contact involved. As you practice each form, you will gain strength, balance and flexibility. The focus that one can achieve is similar to meditation. Forms are low-impact and can be performed at your own pace. No prior karate experience is necessary.

GETTING GREAT REAL ESTATE DEALS WHEN BUYING or SELLING in DIFFICULT TIMES

The instructor is a consumer advocate and not a realtor who will teach you how to get these great deals. Learn the pros and cons of foreclosures, short sales, rent with option to buy, owner financing, and buying for no money down. Also, learn how to buy or sell investment property, primary homes, multi-families, and vacation homes. After this class, you will know how to research property at the tax assessor’s office, the county clerk’s office, and various other methods of research including web sites. (May purchase optional materials from instructor for $20)

This is a lively informative seminar on how to start a successful home-based business. Learn how a second-income business can become full time. The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles mandates this course for all NYS permit holders. Students receive certificate MV 278 after completion of this one-day course. This certificate is required to schedule a road test appointment. The photo learner permit is required. Please arrive on time.  Choose one of the following dates.
