  • Continuing Education classes will not be held if Pine Bush schools are closed or after-school activities are cancelled.
  • Early registration is encouraged to assure placement and to avoid possible class cancellation due to insufficient enrollment. Most classes require a minimum of 10 students, while others may have a maximum number of students and will close out.
  • We make every attempt to reschedule cancellations, sometimes this is not possible. Contact the instructor for makeup date(s).
  • We do not send confirmations. Simply attend your first class. You will only be notified if there is a change in the class, usually by email. Please print email addresses clearly.

LEGO MOVIE MANIA WORKSHOP

Students will explore a variety of themes. In our LEGO Movie Mania Workshop,
Through the use of popular movies like Harry Potter, Spider Man, and Jurassic Park, students will be engaged in a variety of theme-focused activities while learning engineering and math principles. Join in the fun and bring home a mini-figure.

Start your week with fun & exercise to give you energy and focus throughout the week. The first 20 minutes will be skills and drills. The next 30 minutes will be small-sided games. We will use both the gym and outside whenever possible. Various sports and games such as soccer, flag football, capture the flag and more. Limited to first 30 registered students.

Learn to code with new friends Dot & Dash! In our Junior Engineers program, students will learn the fundamentals of robotics. It is Robot Programming for absolute beginners. They will learn to code Dash & Dot Robots. These robots are smart to respond to voices and sounds, and can even be coded to sing
and dance! Dash and Dot are the robots that you always dreamed of having as a kid! Learning robotics with Dash & Dot is as fun as finger painting. The first 5 minutes of each class is focused on training students for critical thinking and to learn to think outside the box. The goal is to inspire and motivate the next generation of Engineers. (6 weeks)

This is an instructional program, which will emphasize proper techniques, skills, and tactics. Full equipment required ~ helmet, shoulder & elbow pads, gloves, mouth guard & stick. Each session will end with games to help practice skills learned. (8 weeks)

SOCCER SKILLS 101

This program is designed around teaching the fundamentals of soccer and the
conditioning that helps develop those skills. This is a developmental program for those players interested in advancing their soccer knowledge of play. This is not for those individuals looking for scrimmage play. Players need to bring a soccer ball and gym floor appropriate footwear. Shin guards are not required, but recommended. Any further questions please contact Coach Rob Bisaillon 845-283-1527. Limit of 15 players per session, two 8-week sessions.

One season of wrestling can help anyone build self-confidence, mental toughness, physical fitness, discipline, body awareness, and coordination. In class, students will learn fundamental moves, advanced techniques, and strategies, along with the importance of sportsmanship. We thoroughly cover the proper rules, positions, procedures and scoring. Varsity & JV wrestlers will assist the coaches. (10 weeks)

      DRIVING INSTRUCTION

      PRE-LICENSING COURSE

      The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles mandates this  course for all NYS permit holders. After completion of this one-day course, certificate MV278 will be issued to students. This certificate is required to schedule a road test appointment. The photo learner permit is required. Please arrive on time.

      DRIVER’S EDUCATION
      Decat

      Students will receive an MV-285 certificate after completion of this 16-week course. This certificate will reduce insurance by 10%, and allows 17-year-old drivers to obtain their Class D senior license. Students meet every Tuesday for the class from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for the classroom portion and either Monday, Wednesday or Thursday after school for in-car instruction.       HEALTH & SELF-ENRICHMENT

      AMERICAN RED CROSS -ADULT & PEDIATRIC FIRST AID/CPR/AED
      James Mullen

      This course teaches students critical skills & knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency until EMS arrive. Course content includes first aid basics, such as burns, cuts & scrapes; medical injury and environmental emergencies; and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help both adult and pediatric victims using CPR/AED. Students who
      successfully complete the course will receive a certification card for Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for 2 years. Students may purchase the book and/or a CPR mask for an additional fee, call the continuing ed. office for more information.

        PICKLEBALL®

        Pickleball®, an enormously popular paddle sport, is here in Pine Bush! The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game. No experience necessary. It’s a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and Ping-Pong. The game is played with a paddle and whiffle-type balls  on a slightly shorter tennis court. It’s played . Many schools have added Pickleball® to their PE classes but it is extremely popular with adults for its social aspect and the ability to stay active while having FUN.               AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE

              The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training class gives you the skills and
              knowledge to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The Lifeguard Training Class includes CPR Training for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Training. Lifeguard Certification is valid for two years. STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL NIGHTS. Minimum age is 15 before the completion of class. Limit 14 students.

Learn the pros and cons of foreclosures, short sales, rent with option to buy, owner financing, and buying for no money down. Also learn how to buy or sell investment property, primary homes, multi-families, and vacation homes. After this class you will know how to research property at the tax assessor’s office, the county clerk’s office & various other methods of research including websites.
