CVMS recognizes Black History Month

February is Black History Month!

There are lessons taking place throughout the month and in all schools, studying the contributions of African-Americans in our nation’s history.

Three students put drawings and biographies on a bulletin board with the help of a woman.

At Circleville Middle School, students in Susan Erickson’s reading class each chose a famous African American to focus on. They researched their lives and then each created a drawing of the person with important information about him or her below it. The students posted their work on a bulletin board in the school library for all to learn from.

A middle-school boy stands next to a bulletin board that says February Celebrates Black Americans. On the board are pictures and bios of influential Black Americans.

There is a special section highlighting books written by Black authors in the library, as well as photos and mini biographies of Black Americans who have made a significant impact on our nation’s history.
