On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, all CVMS students participated in Unity Day, a nationally recognized initiative dedicated to raising awareness about bullying prevention and promoting kindness, respect, acceptance, and inclusion in schools. Unity Day serves as an important reminder that each of us plays a role in creating a safe, welcoming school community where every student feels valued, supported, and a sense of belonging.

At CVMS, we brought this message to life through a collaborative, schoolwide project that highlights the importance of our monthly character strengths and the role each student plays in fostering a positive school culture. Students in every grade level responded to a series of Google Form questions designed to encourage reflection on the character strengths we emphasize throughout the year, including respect, integrity, and courage. Students shared meaningful examples of how they can demonstrate these qualities in their daily interactions, encourage others to do the same, and contribute to a culture of unity throughout our school.

The students’ reflections and responses are being incorporated into a large, collaborative banner that will be displayed in the front hallway of CVMS. Students are continuing to contribute to this project during their lunch periods, ensuring that every grade level has an opportunity to share its voice and help bring our collective message to life.

Once completed, the banner will remain on display throughout the school year as a visible reminder of our shared commitment to kindness, acceptance, respect, and inclusion. More than a celebration of one day, this project reflects our ongoing belief that building a strong school community begins with the everyday choices we make, the way we treat one another, and the care we show for those around us. Together, our students are helping make CVMS a place where everyone belongs and everyone has the opportunity to become their best selves.
