The Crispell Media Club was busy this week, taking photos of students and staff around the building for their Peace Day project. They asked those who wanted to participate to give them a peace sign, then created a graphic to mark International Day of Peace, or Peace Day, Sunday, Sept. 21.
Peace Day is observed annually on Sept. 21 by the United Nations. It was established by the UN in 1981 and the General Assembly unanimously voted to set Sept. 21 as a day of non-violence in 2001. This day serves as a global opportunity to commit to peace and non-violence, with countries promoting a culture of peace through various events and initiatives worldwide. It is a day to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace in our world. The Crispell Media Club is spreading that message of peace to our community.
