Board will make face masks optional when permitted by law

As we await the appellate state court decision regarding the state’s universal mask mandate, please be advised that the Pine Bush Central School District plans to make face masks optional for students and employees when permitted by law.  The only exception will be on school buses which are currently covered by a federal mandate.  In the interim, all staff, students and school visitors must continue to wear a face mask while inside our schools.

District officials and the members of the Board of Education recognize that the mask mandate has been a sensitive issue among many members of our community. We are confident that the Pine Bush school community will continue to support one another and show mutual respect for each other’s decisions.

Again, face masks are still required in our schools at this time. Our plan is to make face masks optional when permitted by law.

Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our school community. We also remain committed to providing the most up-to-date information to our staff and families. As this most recent situation evolves, we will continue to update you. Thank you for your continued partnership.
