The Board of Education will be asked to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2020 board meetings as submitted by the District Clerk.

 

IV.     Reports, Recommendations of the Superintendent of Schools

1.       Consent Agenda

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following revised consent agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools:  ON WEBSITE

 

2.       Approval of Town of Crawford  and Town of Wallkill SRO Agreements

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following resolution:

RESOLVED, that the Superintendent is authorized to execute an agreement with the Town of Crawford and the Town of Wallkill for the purpose of facilitation and implementation of the School Resources Officer program  for the 2020-2021 school year, in accordance with the agreement on file with the District Clerk.

3.       Approval of CSE & CPSE Placement Recommendations

Recommend the Board of Education acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education placement recommendations as submitted by the CSE & CPSE Chairpersons, and reviewed by Trustee Meier.

 

4.       Approval of Participation in Personalized Learning Cohort

The Board of Education is asked to approve the following resolution:

RESOLVED, that the Pine Bush Central School District affirms its continued participation for the 2020-2021 school year in the National Cohort of Schools committed to implementing Personalized Learning, and be it further resolved that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to affirm our commitment.

5.       Update: Return to Learn Plan /Opening of School

Superintendent Tim Mains will provide an update of our current school opening and Return to Learn plan.

 

6.       Presentation: 2020-2021 Staffing Report

The 2020-2021 Staffing Report, will be presented by Angela Wise, Executive Director of Human  Resource,  Data, and Counseling. The report presented consists of two (2) components:

  • A chart providing a comparison of teacher/administrative staffing counts by tenure areas and buildings for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years; and,
  • A narrative report that provides the rationale for each increase and/or decrease within the specific tenure areas.

 

7.       Presentation: Secondary Summer School Report (PBHS) – 2020

Brian Miros, Summer School Administrator will present a report on Secondary Summer School. A PowerPoint will be provided.

8.       Approval of Revised Board Policy Manual for First Reading

The Board of Education will be asked to approve the updated Board Policy Manual as submitted by Erie 1 BOCES in its entirety for First Reading.

 The new manual will be available on the district website for viewing.

 

9.      Board Confirmation of District FOIL Appeals Officer

Recommend the Board of Education confirm the appointment of the Superintendent of Schools as the FOIL Appeals Officer (Freedom of Information Law) for the 2020-2021 school year.

10.     Board of Adoption of Amended Retention and Disposition Schedule

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following resolution for adoption:

RESOLVED, By the Board of Education of the Pine Bush Central School District that Retention and Disposition Schedule for New York Local Government Records, issued pursuant to Article 57-A of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Law, and containing legal minimum retention periods for local government records, is hereby adopted for use by all officers in legally disposing of valueless records listed therein.

NYSSBA Annual Education Convention 2020 – Virtual Two Week Event

The virtual convention will be held over a two-week period, October 20-22 and October 27-29, 2020. The Annual Business Meeting will be held on October 31, 2020. Recommend the Board of Education authorize the funding for the Terms & Conditions of Employment  between the Pine Bush Central School District and Krystle Augusta, Occupational Therapy Assistant, noting
the agreement covers the period retroactive from September 23, 2020 through June 30, 2024.
