President Meier welcomed all to the regular meeting, and requested all stand for the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of silence, noting the time at approx. 7:20 PM.

Approval to Amend Agenda

MOVED by Trustee Watkins, second by Trustee Johnson, that the Board of Education approve to change the flow of the agenda, moving the Student Recognition as first item and adding an MOA with the PBTA after the Consent Agenda.

Student Recognition

Superintendent Mains spoke about the award being presented and the students receiving the award.
The Mid-Hudson School Study Council offered the opportunity to present the National School Development Council Award for Academic Growth and Student Leadership in Learning to deserving students in the Pine Bush Central School District.

The award is presented to high school juniors who have consistently pursued a high level of academic effort and who have served as positive role models for the student body. Recipients of this award exemplify admirable character and
accomplishment.

    four year probationary period commencing May 18, 2021 and ending May 17, 2025. Salary level BA30, Step 1 of the salary schedule (pro-rated).
    Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Shelby Jakaitis msut have received an APPR
    rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.
  • Nora Callahan, who holds an Initial certificate in Business & Marketing, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher in the tenure area of Business Education for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025. Upcoming board meetings and events will be announced Tuesday evening:

The start time for the regular sessions of our board meetings – 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

The Reorganizational meeting is currently scheduled for July 13, 2021; board members are requested to confirm their availability.

Approval of Bid Award for New Vertical Mill

MOVED by Trustee Tompkins, second by Trustee Johnson, that the Board of Education awarded the bid for a new Vertical Mill to Allendale Machinery Systems, Inc. for a price of $61,855.00. No other bids were received.

YES – 5 NO – 0 Abstain – 1 (K. Graessle) MOTION CARRIED

 

Public Participation

The second public participation segment was opened at approx. 7:50PM by President Meier. There were no questions/comments/concerns were raised and for complete conversation of this public participation refer to the

Consideration of Executive Session

Moved by Trustee Watkins, second by Trustee Kheiralla, that the Board of Education adjourn the regular meeting to executive session for legal matter, noting time at 7:52.

YES – 4 NO – 2 MOTION CARRIED

 

Moved by Trustee Watkins, second by Trustee Tompkins, that the Board of Education open executive session at approximately 7:54PM.

YES – 5 NO – 0 MOTION CARRIED

 

Adjourn Executive Session

Moved by Trustee Johnson, second by Trustee Tompkins, that the Board of Education adjourn executive session at approximately 7:59PM.

YES – 6 NO – 0 MOTION CARRIED
