Recommend the Board of Education approve the following revised consent agenda and addition to the as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools:
Tonight’s consent agenda includes the appointment of the following new personnel:

  • Christine Lombardo– Teacher

Creation

Instructional

The Board of Education authorize the creation of the following Co-Curricular positions:

  • (2) Two Pre-Kindergarten Grade Level Chair Positions effective August 30, 2021, salary Level 2.

 

Non-Instructional

The Board of Education authorize the creation of the following positions:

  • (12) Twelve 6.5 hours/day Teacher Aide positions effective August 30, 2021, salary as per contract. (need at Circleville Elementary, Circleville Middle School, Pakanasink Elementary, Crispell Middle School and Pine Bush High School)

 

Leave of Absence

Instructional

  • Patricia Campbell, unpaid leave of absence from her position as a 6.0 hours/day, Teaching Assistant effective August 30, 2021 through February 14, 2022.

 

Appointments

Instructional

  • Christine Lombardo, who holds a Pending certificate in Childhood Education 1-6, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher-Elementary in the tenure area of Elementary for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025. Salary level BA, Step 5 of the salary schedule.
    Be it further resolved that, to the extend applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Christine Lombardo must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and
    must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.
  • Shannon Stack, who holds a Professional certificate in Early Childhood Education Birth – Grade 2 and Childhood Education 1-6, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher-Elementary in the tenure area of Elementary for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025. Salary level MA, Step 4 of the salary schedule.
    Be it further resolved that, to the extend applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Shannon Stack must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.

  • Kate Shadrin, who holds a Pending certificate in Students With Disabilities 7- 12, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher – Special Education in the tenure area of Special Education for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025.  Salary level MA, Step 1 of the salary schedule.
    Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Kate Shadrin must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.
  • Janell McCombs, who holds an Initial certificate in Physical Education, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher in the tenure area of Physical Education and Recreation for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025.  Salary level BA, Step 1 of the salary schedule.
    Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Janell McCombs must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and
    must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.
  • Ashleigh Hahn, who holds a Professional certificate in Music, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher in the tenure area of Music for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025.  Salary level MA Step 22 of the salary schedule.
    Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Ashleigh Hahn must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must
    not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.
  • Denisee Martin, who holds a Teaching Assistant Continuing certificate, increase in hours in her position as a part-time, non-tenure bearing Teaching Assistant (from 4.0 hours/day) to a 6.5 Hour/Day, effective August 30, 2021, salary as per contract.
  • Molly Meres, who holds a Teaching Assistant Level I certificate, be appointed on probation as a part-time, non-tenure bearing 6.5 Hour/Day Teaching Assistant, effective August 30, 2021, salary as per contract.
  • Liberty Klosterman, who holds a Teaching Assistant Continuing certificate, increase in hours in her position as a part-time, non-tenure bearing Teaching Assistant (from 4.0 hours/day) to a 6.5 Hour/Day, effective August 30, 2021, salary as per contract.
  • Alyssa DiMaio, who holds an Initial certificate in Physical Education, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher in the tenure area of Physical Education and Recreation for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025.  Salary level MA, Step 1 of the salary schedule.

    Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Dylan Hintze must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.
  • Andrew Murray, who holds an Initial  certificate in Music, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher in the tenure area of Music for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025.  Salary level MA Step 2 of the salary schedule.
    Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’;s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Andrew Murray must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.

Non-Instructional

  • Jennifer Stroh, increase in hours (from 3.5 hr/day) to a 5.0 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective August 31, 2021, salary as per contract.
  • Candice Gavazzi, increase in hours (from 3.5 hr/day) to a 5.0 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective August 31, 2021, salary as per contract.
  • Cindy Brengard, increase in hours (from 3.0hr/day) to a 3.5 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective August 31, 2021, salary as per contract.
  • Monali Verma, change in title, from Typist to School Secretary, a full-time 12/month probationary appointment, effective July 1, 2021, salary as per contract (pro-rated), noting she is certified for such appointment through the Orange County Department of Human Resources.  

Recommend the Board of Education approve the temporary appointments of the following individuals as instructional and support staff members for the 2021 Secondary Summer School Program effective for the period July 6, 2021 through August 11, 2021 at $1,795/session, plus an additional hourly rate of $23.25 for administering and scoring the Regents examinations where applicable, noting appointments are contingent upon student enrollment:

  • John Petrofsky – Science – Substitute (pro-rated session)
