III. Public Hearing — District-wide School Safety Plan

Superintendent Tim Mains will provide a brief overview of the District-wide School Safety Plan presented to the Board of Education for approval. At the conclusion of the review, the floor will be open to the public for comments and questions.

IV. Approval of Minutes

The Board of Education will be asked to approve the minutes of the July 27, 2021 regular board meeting as submitted by the District Clerk.

 

V. Reports, Recommendations of the Superintendent of Schools

1. Consent Agenda

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following consent agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools: ON WEBSITE

2. Approval of CSE & CPSE Placement Recommendations

Recommend the Board of Education acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education placement recommendations as submitted by the CSE &; CPSE Chairpersons, and reviewed by Trustee Meier.

3. District’s Bi-Annual Special Education Summary

 Terrilyn Cohn, Director of Special Programs, will be in attendance Tuesday evening to present a bi-annual summary report of the CSE & CPSE placements and program numbers, as well as 504 update.

4. Approval of Town of Crawford and Town of Wallkill SRO Agreements

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following resolution:

RESOLVED, that the Superintendent is authorized to execute an agreement with the Town of Crawford and the Town of Wallkill for the purpose of facilitation and implementation of the School Resources Officer program for the 2021-2022 school year, in accordance with the agreement on file with the District Clerk.

5. BOE Adoption of District-wide Health and Safety Plan for 2021-2022

 Recommend the Board of Education adopt the District-wide School Safety Plan for the 2021-2022 school year, as reviewed and submitted by the District’s Health, Safety, and Wellness Committee.

6. Approval of Amended Policies 3220 and 5640 for First Reading

Recommend the Board of Education approve amended Policies 3220 and 5640 for first reading:

  • Amended Policy 3220 – Use of Service Animals
  • Amended Policy 5640 – Smoking/Tobacco Use

7. New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) Presentation

John Redman, NYSSBA’s Area 9 Director will be in attendance to present a banner to the Pine Bush Central School District for NYSSBA’s Champions of Change Program.

8. Reopening Plan

Superintendent Tim Mains and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Amy Brockner will present the district reopening plan.

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve the disposition of the following equipment:

  • Equipment for disposition as submitted at the request of Operation and Maintenance Department, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the following equipment as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.

Pine Bush High School Equipment:

Card Catalogs – tag # 12096, 12097, 12098 and 12099

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve the disposition of the following equipment:

  • Equipment for disposition as submitted at the request of John Hicks, Director of Technology, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the following equipment as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve the disposition of the following equipment:

Equipment for disposition as submitted at the request of Lyn Prestia, Director of School Nutrition Services, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250
SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the following equipment as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.

2. Approval of Standard Work Day and Reporting of Appointed Official – Internal Claims Auditor

The Board of Education will be asked to approve the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pine Bush CSD (Location Code 73307) hereby establishes the following as standard work days for the Internal Claims Auditor and will report the following days worked to the New York State and Local Employees Retirement System based on the time keeping system records or the record of activities maintained and submitted by these officials to the clerk of this body: Internal Claims Auditor – Standard Work Day at 8 hours, (1.02 days per month*). As such, the Board approves the Standard Work Day and Reporting Resolution Form attached to the minutes.

5. Approval of 2021-2022 Tax Warrant

Recommend the Board of Education approve the adoption the following resolution, authorizing the 2021-2022 School Tax Warrant:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pine Bush Central School District Board of Education authorize the 2021-2022 School Tax Warrant in the amount of $ 59,756,092 and, further, that the Warrant be attached to the tax list. The 2021-2022 School Tax Warrant shall be issued for the period September 1, 2021 through November 2, 2021.

(A roll call vote should be taken on this matter. A copy of the warrant is included in your packet. Each board member will be asked to sign the warrant Tuesday evening.)
