We are proud to celebrate two of our very own school nurses, Kathleen Chamberlain and Linda Loennecker, our nursing department chair, for achieving national certification through the National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN)!
Achieving NBCSN certification is a major milestone in school nursing. The rigorous examination tests advanced clinical expertise, specialized knowledge, and a deep dedication to student health, safety, and wellness.
To put this accomplishment into perspective, there are currently only 89 nationally certified school nurses across the entire state of New York. Having two of these exceptional professionals serving our school community is a rare honor and a testament to the high standard of care our nursing staff provides

every single day.
In a letter commending their achievement, Arienne Patzelt, the New York State Liaison for NBCSN, highlighted their dedication and praised the district’s commitment to supporting excellence in student health services—a sentiment echoed by Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Rachel Adelstein: “The Pine Bush Community is extremely fortunate to have both of these incredibly dedicated nurses supporting our students and families. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to our district.”
Please join us in congratulating Kathleen and Linda on this well-deserved achievement and thanking them for keeping our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn!
