Pakanasink Elementary kicked off the school year with its first School Family Assembly, bringing students and staff together for a morning filled with school spirit, celebration, and a shared sense of purpose. These assemblies give the PAK school community a chance to come together, celebrate one another, and strengthen their commitment to a safe, supportive, and connected school community.

Students arrived in the cafeteria proudly wearing their grade-level colors, creating a vibrant display of Pakanasink pride. The energy in the room reflected the excitement of coming together as one school family.

During the assembly, principal Mr. Brian Breheny, and assistant principal Ms. Andrea McKevitt, welcomed new staff members and students, celebrated monthly birthdays, and reviewed important classroom expectations and school rules with the team. Students and staff also participated in a Brain Smart Start, Wish Well, and a breathing technique, creating a calm and focused beginning to our time together.

The Pakanasink Chant brought energy and enthusiasm to the gathering, as students and staff joined their voices in a shared expression of school pride. They also proudly recited the “Pakanastars” song, reminding students of the importance of safety, teamwork, attention, and reflection.

At the heart of the assembly was a shared commitment to one another. Everyone has an important role in creating a community where everyone feels safe, valued, included, and ready to learn.  The monthly family assemblies will continue to provide meaningful opportunities to come together and celebrate the PAK family.
