Crispell Middle School inducted 47 students into its chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
The group is advised by Stephen Charchan and Patricia Hoehmann.

Superintendent Joe Lenz spoke to the students and their families gathered at the induction ceremony.
“Your selection into the National Junior Honor Society is not simply recognition of strong academic achievement; it is also a reflection of your leadership, service, citizenship and character,” said Mr. Lenz. “All qualities that define outstanding young people and future leaders in our schools and communities.”
Mr. Lenz acknowledged the families, teachers and mentors who have encouraged the students every step of the way.
“Your guidance, encouragement and belief in them have helped shape the success we celebrate this evening,” Mr. Lenz said.

“As you become members of the National Junior Honor Society, remember that this honor also carries responsibility,” he said. “Continue to lead with integrity, serve with compassion and pursue excellence in everything you do. Our community looks to young people like you to make a positive difference in the world.”

In order to be eligible for the NJHS, students must live the five tenants of the group: scholarship, service, citizenship, leadership and character.
Scholarship – students must achieve a 93 or above overall average for the first three quarters of the school year.
Service – students must participate in at least two school activities
Citizenship – students must participate in at least one community service activity.
Leadership – students must participate in an activity for which he/she is directly responsible.
Character – student must show good character.
