Pine Bush High School teachers Renae Bray and Jessica Grasso accompanied a group of 30 young women from PBHS to the Women in the Law Day on Friday March 20.

Our students and others from throughout the area had the opportunity to hear from a panel of women in a variety of careers in law, including lawyers from the District Attorney’s office, those who have started their own private law offices, county and supreme court justices, court officers, county clerks and stenographers.

These women encouraged and inspired the young women in attendance to pursue their goals and carve out their own paths whether it be in the law field or any other direction they may choose.

After the presentations many of our students took advantage of the opportunity to mingle with the presenters and asked many questions. It was an educational and inspiring experience for this group of young women from Pine Bush High School.
The stories and experiences we heard were very inspiring and motivating,” said Ms. Grasso. “We are hopeful we can go again next year.”

This was the second annual Women in the Law Day, sponsored by the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (WBAOSC). It was held at the Orange County Government Center. The initiative aims to connect women in the legal profession, encourage those pursuing law careers, and celebrate the contributions of women to the criminal justice system. It is held in March as part of Women’s History Month.
